Last week we stated that “movement is essential.” Bold as it may be, it is true! Even though gyms and fitness studios and such are closed, we can continue to move at home… and here is how!
Hidden ways to add movement to your day!
- Get a standing desk.
- Do calf raises while you cook in the kitchen.
- Walk during your phone calls.
- Exercise on commercial breaks during your favorite TV shows.
- Stretch in the morning or at night while you are still in bed.
Even though these ideas are great ways to incorporate regular movement into your day, it is still important for you to work 30 minutes of moderate intensity exercise into your day, 5x a week! This can be any combination of activities- strength training, cardio, barre, HIIT intervals, walking, bike riding, etc. The goal is to get your heart rate up!
Movement gives us control. Control of our time, of our bodies, and of our lives. Implement a daily schedule, get to sweatin’, and reap the benefits of taking good care of your body. We ask so little!
