The holiday season is called the most wonderful time of the year…it’s also the most stressful time of the year!
Between traveling arrangements, holiday parties and get togethers, present shopping, and meeting end of the year’s goals and deadlines, it can be easy to get worn out and not enjoy the essence of this magical time of year. Stress can take a toll on your mind and body, especially your immune system. So how can you combat stress and stay healthy and happy this holiday season? Here are some helpful ways to manage your stress this holiday season:
Identify stressful areas in your life and identify healthy ways to deal with that stress (i.e. exercise, deep breathing, mindfulness exercises, etc.)
- Count your blessing everyday
- Focus on the positive things; don’t dwell on the negative things
- Make a plan to manage your time wisely
- Don’t forget to take care of yourself too; Eat well, exercise, get adequate, spend time with family and friends, and laugh a lot!
An important way to bounce back from stress is to focus on resiliency. Resiliency depends on your inner strength to fight back against stressful situations. Reframe the way you look at any situation in a positive way in order to rid your body of negative emotions that can contribute to ongoing stress and strain on your health and well-being. a gift, which is why we call it the present.” Bil Keane
